HDPE pipes, such as water pressure pipes, can be connected by a process called butt fusion, where the ends of the pipes are heated and joined together. This type of polyethylene pipe can be used in trenchless applications where digging is difficult or impossible. Black HDPE pipes are used for natural gas transmission, where a zero leak rate is crucial.

HDPE Butt Welding

• The most important event during the solid wall lining process is the thermal butt fusion method being used by Pexmart. Thermal butt fusion provides an economical and fast method of delivering a complete, long continuous length of HDPE pipe.
• The fused joints are as strong as the pipe itself, providing a continuous leak proof system.
